Oh how wrong we were to think

Wednesday night was the night I finally lived:

So... two nights ago I made it to my first ever MCR show. After waiting a year, almost exactly, from the canceled concert last year, it was SOOOOO worth it. It was the most amazing night of my life to say the absolute least.

The good stuff started in the line:
Me and my friends got there around 5:30, and by then the line was already huge. We were around the corner down the road a bit. Just so happens, we were standing across from the fenced-in area containing the tour buses. After standing for 10 or so minutes, a couple people started screaming, we we all turned around. GERARD WAY was just walzting along oh-so casually towards his bus. We all yelled at him so he turned and did this very gerard-like shy smile wave combo before walking in. [I managed to get a picture of his backside walking away for a personal momento XP] Throughout the rest of my wait, I managed to see Mikey walking out and Ray [wearing this massive pair of shades] walk around the side and in. So I managed to see 3/5 boys before the show even began! Also, the big pickup truck that drove by and gave out SHITLOADS of free monster energy drinks was a LIFESAVER. It was seriously a well-needed pick me up considering I'd suffered through school all morning long!

It was my first time in the Electric Factory, so I spent a few minutes gawking at it. I really liked the venue, it was so small and intimate and alot of the over21ers were on the balcony. But of course, we all rushed to the stage ASAP to secure good spots. We managed to get 3/4 of the way up.

Drive By weren't that bad. I thought it was funny that the only way they could get the crowd to react to them was by mentioning MCR. The lead singer said something like, "right before we came out, Gerard Way stole my fucking belt."

Taking Back Sunday were AMAZING. I really couldn't see them for the first 2 songs because I somehow ended up facing away from the stage because of the waves of people slaming into me. Once I managed to get back on the ground, it was great. Adam looked so wonderful swinging his mic all over the place. And they introduced their new [hawaiin!] guitarist who has aparently just joined the band. Their set was wonderful and they played all the good stuff, including a new, never-before-heard song!!!!! The best part was when Adam decided to poke fun at a girl up close who was wearing Frank-style X's on her eyes. He was all, "I'm sure you didn't spend all those hours on you makeup for me to make fun of it though!" He didn't mean anythign bad by it, but was was just really funny! OH! ALSO! They did a cover of Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" IT WAS SO HILARIOUS. It took me a moment to realize what exactly it was they were playing, but when I did i went crazy XP

By this time, me and my two friends had worked ourselves up pretty far, within 10-15 feet of the stage/front. It was worth every ounce of my strength [and getting away from the creepy shirtless kid who kept trying to seduce every girl within reach *shudders*]

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE WERE SO FUCKING WONDERFUL. I can't even begin. I had 1285612457435 simultaneous heartattacks on my best friend's shoulder when they started walking out. They all looked so wonderful, too. Frank was rocking a revenge-esque look with the longsleeve white shirt and black vest-ish thing [that I spent a great deal of time OMGAWWWWing at XP.] I'll admit I spent the first two songs in shock at the fact that it was really them. Gerard was looking wonderful, I was kind of expecting him to not look as great as he did for some reason. And as one could have guessed, Mikey had the 'mikey fuckin way' shirt on. BUT NO FLANNEL FOR BOB. I was shocked, to say the least. Nonetheless, he was still wonderful.

They did too many amazing things to write here, but I'll share the best:
**One of the best was Gerard announcing that his and Mikey's dad was at the show that night. He dedicated WTTPB to him and it was so adorable how much he loves his daddy <3
**Sometime during Headfirst For Halos, Frank decided to go over and hijack Gerard's mic. The song stops entirley, AND FRANK STARTS SINGING THE FRESH PRINCE THEME SONG. It was so adorable and we were all singing along. His voice was all shaky and nervous and he turned around to face Bob's kit to sing it all. ADORABLE. He ended up leaving the mic by the drums and shyly walking back to his usual spot. After the song Gerard commeted something to the likes of, "he kept singing that backstage" and "he was so nervous, so he just leaves my mic by the drums, thanks"
**Frank walking over to the side to have a tech light his ciggarette was so unbearably HOT. Like, whoa, to say the least. I'm not sure why, but Frank smoking was probably one of the most attractive things I've ever seen.
**I was moved to tears by Desert Song. Before they started, Gerard, Frank, and Ray just walked back onto the stage and Gerard said a few things. He kept mentioning a girl named Emily, and he said that the song was was about courage and therefore he dedicated it to her. Frank and Ray sat down on their respective sides [Ray had his legs crossed and all!] and launched into it. It was a really powerful song for me, but I'm sure nobody wants to hear my explanations.
**MIKEYWAY. I think that Mikey finally realized that being animated on stage is a GOOD thing. It's like he finally realized the fact that he is HOT. Because he was. I'm not gonna lie, I've alway thought Mikey to be a good-looking man. But seeing him in person is 1874650189345 times better. WHY SO GORGEOUS MIKEYWAY?
**Speaking of gorgeous, BOB BRYAR AND HIS HAIR WERE THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY LIFE. I did a great deal of standing and watching the man just play. God, Bob, what you do to a hopeless fangirl like me. [I just wish he'd throw his sticks into the audience instead up in the air though!!!!!]
**Teenagers. They had one of the techs come out and help out. Gerard made a goings-on about it and made a point of calling him "a fifteen-year-old virgin" XP
**During one solo [I'm thinking it might have been Venom, but everything's all blurry in my memory :(] Ray just went NUTS. Jumping and headbanging and just going INSANE. I stood there, stock still, on my toes just watching him intently. It was amazing how much he decided to put into that one little moment and I'll forever have that image with me in my mind XP

The only complaint of the night was the lack of b-sides. WE DIDN'T GET ANY! I was rather dissapointed.
But in that case, the setlist [in the best order I can remember]:
Give 'Um Hell Kid
This Is How I Dissapear
Cemetary Drive
I Don't Love You
House Of Wolves [lots of howling beforehand!]
You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison
Welcome To The Black Parade
Thank You For The Venom
Headfirst For Halos
I'm Not Okay
Sleep [they played the recordings and everything, but Gerard had to go "everybody! SHHHHHHHH!" so we could hear them XP]
Mama
Teengaers
Cancer
Famous Last Words
[somewhere in here was James's keyboard solo. FANTASTIC.]
Desert Song
Helena

So overall, it was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life. It was one of those things you just can't put into words no matter how hard you try when somebody asks you "how was it?" Just... purly amazing is probably the closest that words can get at the moment.
